RMS Inc. founder Josh Rubin competing on his new Sidewinder Carbon C1 at the Age Group World Championships in Budapest Hungary. He qualified for this race on the same bike at the USAT National Qualifier in June.
The Sidewinder C2 is here. The same great mix of Ultra High Modulus 12K/3K weave carbon in an even more user friendly package and 3 sizes.
Introducing The Sparrow VHM.
To the left is our new Sparrow VHM, very high modulus, road bike. It is made from a carefully selected blend of 12K/3K carbon weave making this frame both incredibly stiff yet comfortable to ride, just like our Tri bikes. The bike as seen to the left with full carbon bars, compression molded all carbon forks , SRAM Rival groupset, Shimano RS20 wheels, Michelin Prorace3 Tires and Selle Italia Carbonio Gel Flow saddle sells for $2395 complete. It weighs in at 16.9 pounds in 54cm size. This is a stiff, fast, no nonsense race bike at a very fair price point. Check out the Sparrow VHM website towards the end of May 2011 for complete details.
Titanium is back at RMS! The 1st frames are in and are available now. Check Sidewinder Titanium page for details.

RMS is proud to be back in the Titanium game. We will again produce the finest in Titanium Tri bikes. We will also produce Ti road bikes on request. To help keep our costs low we will build and stock 3 sizes, a small, medium and large frame that will suit the majority of athletes. We can also build custom as we did in years past at an additional cost depending on complexity. The above pictured bike is the first we have produced and is very fast. As for which way to go, carbon or Ti the choice is yours. Carbon and Ti weigh about the same. The above bike with HED corsair bars and the water bottle system with SRAM Force weighs 17.5 lbs. Our Ti is every bit as stiff as carbon. Monocoque carbon frames certainly look better but carbon is not forever, it will eventually crack. I estimate the longevity for a carbon frame to be 3-5 years if you ride it heavily, say 5000 miles per year. No special tools are required for Titanium so mechanics without a torque wrench are not an issue. Ti is worry free when you are traveling to a race. Titanium is essentially forever. If you believe any of the nonsense about frame aerodynamics making a difference, then I have some land in South Florida to sell you. The biggest aero impediment is the rider/helmet. Next is wheels, forks and bars. Most of the air at the frameset is disturbed and not making a huge difference in drag. So, which bike to buy? Come and ride both and make your decision. Titanium absorbs road buzz as well as carbon, but it has a different feel. The carbon frames definitely look cooler. Titanium framesets are simpler and use external wiring. I personally like Titanium and will ride the bike pictured above next season. There is virtually no difference in speed between the Ti bike and the C2 carbon bike. My training numbers are nearly identical. The choice is yours!
